When Amaya rescues a drowning stranger, she hopes that the rescue will lead to the end of her servitude on a debtors ship and not extend it. Boon, the mysterious stranger, does give Amaya wealth, a new identity, and a mission–to destroy the man who ruined her family. This is exactly what Amaya wants, but nothing is as it seems and soon Amaya doesn’t know who she can trust.
This retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo has a little bit of everything–mystery, intrigue, romance, adventure. The story will entertain a variety of readers, but be prepared to move right on to the sequel.
