In middle school, Ivy, Cal, and Mateo were best friends, but they haven’t spoken in years. Then one hard morning they meet by chance and decide to skip school to avoid their problems. Unfortunately, they run into more trouble than they ever suspected when they witness the murder of one of their classmates. All three have a connection to the murdered student and they are all hiding something. A frivolous day off becomes a fight for survival.
You’ll Be the Death of Me is a fast-paced thriller with a little bit of everything–mystery, action, suspense, and even a little romance. The story will appeal to a variety of young adult readers with a cast of characters that are interesting and relatable. The mystery is compelling, but stays age appropriate.
