This creative tale feels much like Sherlock Holmes meets Dracula. Abigail provides the Holmesian deduction while Jackaby sheds light on the supernatural forces in this alternate history. Despite the dark magic and death, this fun novel includes humor and classic mystery conventions. It is a perfect read for Sherlock lovers as well as fantasy fans and remains appropriate for a younger teen audience.

Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff

Middle school readers with relate to the characters and enjoy their story of finding themselves. A wonderful story covering difficult issues with grace and insight.
